Juvenile youth teens

Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.  You wait and watch and work: You don’t give up.

Parenting Group Option for Agency Referrals

Large amounts of funding can be spent on services for families at risk for out-of-home placement of their youth. However, if the parents don’t think they have a problem and are not ready to make changes this can be an inefficient use of funds and quite unproductive.

The goal of the Turning Leaf ServicesSM Parenting with Love and Limits® program is to provide referring agents with a litmus test to determine if the family is ready to change and make use of the services being offered to them. The Parenting with Love and Limits® program will not only evaluate readiness, but can help move the family through the three stages preceding effective treatment:

  • Pre-contemplation stage – where a person does not believe they have a problem.
  • Contemplation stage – where a person starts to think there may be a problem and they may need to change, but are not ready to work on the issues in the near term.
  • Preparation stage – the person begins to identify the problem and plans to act within the next 30 days, accepting encouragement to learn new skills and take small initial steps.
