Our Parenting Program Details
Brush Dance Clinic serves the Northern Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. We are certified trainers in the Parenting with Love and Limits® program.
Our Parenting Program is a parenting education program that integrates the best principles from several best practice approaches into a comprehensive 8-week program for juvenile delinquent populations with the primary diagnosis of oppositional defiant or conduct disorder.
The key ingredient is parental involvement and providing parents with the proper skills to address their adolescents’ behavioral problems.
The program is designed to provide parents with specific tools and techniques to reestablish their ability to determine rules and develop a healthier parent–child relationship.
How Long Does it Take?
The program consists of eight 2-hour classes.
What Results Can I Expect?
We will help solve the issues that exist between you and your teen. In this program, we will hear and address your particular problems and provide you with hands-on ideas and help. As part of the classes, you and your teen will develop a creative, personalized contract that contains rules and consequences for your specific situation.
Is My Teen Involved in the Program?
We will actively involve your teenager. We have separate breakout groups throughout the eight classes for teens and parents. This gets your teen really involved with you and with other teens and everyone gets to learn about responsibility and accountability for actions. If your teen refuses to come, it is no big deal. Just let him/her know things will be changing. The class is designed so that you can come alone or bring your teen.
What Topics are Covered?
The 8 classes will cover:
Class #1
Class #2
Class #3
Class #4
Class #5
Class #6
Class #7
Class #8
